Pumpkin Trifle: Ingredients:
2 pkg/ (10 3/4 oz. each) frozen pound cake, cut in 1/4 in. slices
6 tbsp. bourbon
1/2 cup dark brown sugar, divided
2 cups heavy whipping cream
30 oz. can pumpkin pie filling
Toasted sliced almonds for garnish
Instructions:
Mix bourbon and 1/4 cup dark brown sugar in a small bowl.
Brush over cake slices. Cut cake into cubes, if desired.
Beat remaining 1/4 cup dark brown sugar with heavy cream until stiff.
In a large glass bowl, layer as follows:
1/2 can pumpkin pie filling
1/3 of cake
1/2 of cream
1/3 of cake
remaining pumpkin
remaining cake
remaining cream
Top with toasted almonds and chill. Serves 12. |
