Lilly Su's Chinese New Years Rice Cakes:

Ingredients:
1 lb sweet rice powder*
1/4 cup oil
1 cup sugar
2 ½ cup milk
1 tsp baking powder
3 eggs

optional flavors:
1 can of red bean paste
sesame seeds

* It usually says “Glutinous Rice Flour” and comes in a 1lb bag.  You should be able to find it at any Asian grocery store.

Instructions:
Mix all ingredients well, preheat oven at 350, pour into greased pan, choose one of the following different flavors, or create your own:
1) Plain ­ bake for 40 ~ 50 minutes or until the top is brown
2) With red bean paste:  bake for 15 minutes, add one layer of red bean paste, bake for another 25 to 35 minutes or until brown.
3) With sesame seeds:  sprinkle top with sesame seeds and bake for 40 ~ 50 minutes or until brown.
